Responsibilities & Key Areas:

  • Scheduling weekly work programmes & reporting the same
  • Attend meetings with client on-site for progress
  • Liaise with Project Manager for the duration of job
  • Scheduling labour & material
  • Liaising with Quantity Surveyors, H&S etc.
  • Providing clear leadership abilities and direction to the site team
  • Ensure all records & management activities adhere to Institutional policies and legal requirements
  • Ensuring Quality standard maintained & improved
  • Communicate well at all levels
  • Carry out Inductions with Sub-Contractors
  • Prepare Method statements as required
  • Project administration
  • Health & Safety compliance
  • Effectively prioritise areas of work and meet strict deadlines
  • Carry out all Health & Safety Checks on Site Order day to day materials as required.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Trade or Technically qualified
  • Proven track record & knowledge of the construction industry
  • Effectively prioritise area of work and meet strict deadlines
  • High level of organisational and time management skills
  • Flexibility and capability to adapt to a changing work environment

    Responsibilities:
    • Qualified Industrial Electrician Required to attend Site meetings
    • Mark-Up Electrical Drawings for Co-ordination purposes
    • Attend meetings with Main Contractor on site for progress
    • Liaise with Project Manager for duration of Job
    • Liaise with Electrical QS re: variations/Changes on Site
    • Responsible for daily Electrical Works on site.
    • Carry out Inductions with Sub-Contractors
    • Prepare Method statements as required
    • Carry out all Health & Safety Checks on Site (GA3’s, SSWP’s Tool Box Talks, Site Inductions)
    • Order day to day materials as required.
    • Experience in LV Installations (400v or less)
    • Good knowledge of installing Electrical LV systems such as Tray, Trunking, Steel Conduit.
    • Wiring of LV systems using single core cable in steel conduit for Lighting, Sockets, Spurs.
    • Wiring of ELV Systems in steel conduit for Data, Fire Alarm, CCTV, Door Access, Intruder Alarm, etc.
    • Termination of Sub-mains Cables (up to 4x300mm2) Installation, Termination & Testing of Sub-Distribution Boards & Main Boards
    • Testing of LV Installation & Recording of Tests in Test Record Sheets.
    • Assist in Commissioning of ELV Systems (i.e. Fire Alarm, Intruder Alarm, CCTV, etc.) Marking up As-Built Drawings on Completion of works
    • Good knowledge of current Electrical Standards
    • Current Safe Pass required.
    • Good Communication Skills
    • Ability to work as part of a team
    • Ability to read Construction Drawings & compare to Electrical Drawings & install Electrical Systems to suit
    • Provide technical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered before, during, and after construction.
    • Must be suitably qualified through a certified national body

        The Apprenticeship is governed by SOLAS and is Standards-Based. During your apprenticeship, you will be required to follow a specific course of training and undergo a series of assessments to confirm that you’ve reached the required standard.

        The apprenticeship consists of seven phases: three off-the-job and four on-the-job. SOLAS and the Department of Education and Science have responsibility for providing the off-the-job training, while your on-the-job training will take place on-site with Tim Kelly Group.

        We are currently seeking apprentices to start on a number of our sites. We are accepting applications from both Pre-Registered and Registered apprentices.

        Requirements:

        • Safe pass is essential

        Mechanical & Electrical Quantity Surveyor

As a leading contractor, we specialise in the provision of mechanical, electrical, fire protection and technology services to a range of sectors including commercial, data centre, manufacturing, infrastructure and healthcare.         Duties and Responsibilities:

        • Preparing early stage budgets and detailed cost plans.
        • Manage/monitor all commercial aspects of projects.
        • Responsible for cost controlling including tracking and agreeing change.
        • Pricing and assessment of variations and contract entitlement Negotiation.
        • Performing risk and value management and cost control.
        • Preparing tender and contracts documents, including bills of quantities.
        • Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks.
        • Preparing and analysing costings for tenders.
        • Establishing and operating cost and financial control systems.
        • Certifying progress claims and payments to contractors against work completed.
        • Negotiating to ensure budgets are not exceeded.
        • Measurement from drawings of the Mechanical and Electrical components.
        • Review proposals with Designers.
        • Providing advice on contractual claims.
        • Maintain contemporaneous accurate records.
        • Valuing completed work and compiling application for payment.
        • Monthly cost and value reports.
        • Final Account Preparation, Negotiation and Agreement
        • Ensure Project Manager & Construction Manager are commercially aware of current state of project.
        • Project cost and programme forecasts.
        • Working closely and effectively with all other disciplines in particular the site management teams to ensure costs are fully controlled and values enhanced

        What you’ll need to succeed:

        • Minimum 5years experience in a contracting environment, preferably M&E experience
        • Degree in Quantity Surveying / Construction Economics or Electrical / Mechanical Engineering Degree.
        • To be proficient in MS Office applications- Excel, MS project.
